Stephen's New job

So I started my new job this last week. It has been great getting out and doing something useful with my time. This week and part of next is classroom training. Then after this comes the real training on the job. Mostly I will have bag-room training with a little ramp( out around the plane) training.

My normal schedule will begin at about 4am and end at 1pm. Because of this I will not be taking the MAX to the airport which would save time and money, I will be required to use the car. The car though, has been acting up, something with the starter, so I am not really wanting to use it, yet I must.

We are both excited as this is the last step before we will be able to move into an apartment. It has been both fun and yet a strain, to be living right next door to all the Freedom House students. Having an apartment will also let us be more free to have guests over.

Going to LA

This Thursday (the 24th of May) Jess and I will be heading to LA.

To give you some background for this trip.
Back in October, Eastside Foursquare, the church that Freedom House Ministries is partnering with and we attend, was given the rights to a brand new commercial kitchen. At present there is only a non-functional commercial kitchen and a very small kitchen for Freedom House. The only issue has been the church in LA that has the kitchen needed permits of some kind before we could get the kitchen. Now it's May and the church in LA finally got the much needed permits.

We will be gone for about 5 day. We are leaving late Thursday night and will be driving straight through to LA. We are going with the couple in charge of catering events for Eastside, and one of the students from Freedom House. This couple is going to be the head of kitchen staff and Jessica will be working closely with them while continuing to take care of the food service for Freedom House.

In LA, Mark, myself and the one student will be preparing the larger items (stoves, warming racks, etc) for hulling back up here. Jess and Angie will be taking care of most smaller items.

An other blessing is that a church in Oregon City has offered to take care of hulling all the equipment that we are bringing back. The will meet us down there and help us to load the truck(s).

Please pray that all goes well and we drive safe. The two couples will be taking turn driving, and we will be driving through the night Thursday and that next Tuesday. None of us have spent much time together so hopefully we will continue to enjoy each other the whole trip not just the first five minuets.
